Week of the forest
The concept of "sustainability" is often thought to be a kind of 21st century invention. However, more than 300 years ago, the problem of overuse was already recognized in forestry and a commitment was made to the careful use of wood. This gave rise to the concept of sustainability.
In the week from 8 - 14 June 2020, the focus will be on the importance of the forest. It produces oxygen and building material, stores energy and water, reduces CO2, offers different habitats and recreation. As it grows, the forest binds large amounts of carbon dioxide. OMV is therefore supporting the "Climate Research Forest" project in Austria in order to make a further contribution to climate protection.
