Innovation & Technology Center
Innovation and technological progress have always played a key role at OMV. These cutting-edge technologies can be fully experienced at the Innovation & Technology Center (ITC) in Gänserndorf.
It opened in August 2020 and showcases OMV Energy's outstanding technologies, which are developed in the Weinviertel region and used worldwide, using state-of-the-art presentation technology on an area of 1,600 m².
The main focus was placed on the technology areas of geology & geophysics, drilling technology, production technology (artificial lift), smart oil recovery, materials & corrosion and saltwater treatment.
Digitization is the unifying discipline here and an important building block of all technologies. The ITC is aimed at OMV business partners, investors, OMV employees, universities, as well as schools and interested visitors.
An architectural highlight
The building is rotated upwards by 15 degrees from the base. On the one hand, this mirrors the rotation of a drill string. On the other hand, the 15 degrees correspond exactly to the central Weinviertel, from which OMV technologies conquer all continents.
The symbolic rotation can also be found inside the building. A seven-meter-high ramp with various technology stations winds around a seven-meter-high 360 degree theater. The presentation and media technology on two levels can be adapted to new developments and changing requirements.
The top floor of the architecturally unique building houses an event room and a terrace. From there, visitors have an unobstructed view of the Weinviertel region and the OMV plants where the technologies are used in practice.

- Guided tours are possible from Monday to Thursday between 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (last start time). On a Friday, a guided tour is possible until 12:00.
- The tour lasts 90 minutes
- Only group bookings are possible from 5-25 persons
