Our six-month internships are designed to give you the practical skills and experience to get your career off to a flying start. Over the duration of the program, you’ll get an inside look at our operations and projects that help to drive the transformation towards a circular economy. Our Internship Areas

We offer internships in various business areas. Further details are provided below.


Starting date

The ideal start dates are January, February, and March for the first half of the year, or July, August, and September for the second half of the year. The job postings are published 3-4 months in advance.

Finance & Controlling

What you will learn:

  • Preparing ad-hoc reports and interpreting deviations.
  • Various project-related analyses.
  • Support with ongoing finance projects.
  • Monthly bookkeeping and reporting.
  • Support with preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements.
Logistic

What you will learn:

  • Daily operations of truck, train or barge logistics and related processes for OMV.
  • Create transport orders, to fulfill necessary transport requests.
  • Support the preparation of monthly KPI reports and presentations, to analyze relevant logistics streams.
  • Set up evaluations about capacity utilization on a weekly basis.
  • Maintenance and administration of logistic data and prices in various systems like SAP.
  • Accompany and support short-term freight rate inquiries.
Industrial Engineering

What you will learn:

  • Collection of analyses and technical data for reporting purposes.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Screening of innovative technologies as well as technical analysis activities.
  • Preparation of training documents for employees.
  • Involvement in technical projects across the group dealing with Environmental Management.
Chemical Engineering

What you will learn:

  • Familiarization with refinery/petchem processes and their process engineering settings and modes of operation as well as the process control systems.
  • Collaboration in the preparation of process evaluations and reporting.
  • Observation and analysis of new technology and process developments as well as preparation and presentation of summaries.
  • Screening the status of competitive technologies in case of OMV internal developments.
  • Collaboration, preparation, and documentation of regular meetings as well as process database maintenance.
  • Activities and tests in the laboratory and pilot plant on special plants and processes, analysis activities and analysis evaluations.
IT & IT Projects

What you will learn:

  • Support projects in the field of Digitalization & IT.
  • Support the program manager(s) who are responsible for the strategic delivery of all program deliverables.
  • Setup and execution of digital projects and initiatives.
  • Support with the optimization of organizational structures, processes, and systems.
  • Structure complex information and develop practicable solutions.
  • Design presentations, reports, and analyses for senior management meetings.
  • Definition and facilitation of change and communication measures.
Procurement

What you will learn:

  • Daily operations of Corporate Procurement and related processes, for OMV, Petrom and Borealis.
  • Procurement administration like purchase order preparation, invoice checking and challenge demand.
  • Specific benchmark topics, e.g. vendor research and evaluation, market research.
  • Procurement specific calculations, data analysis and preparation of information.
  • Expense tracking and reporting as well as cost analysis and risk management.
  • Maintenance of data in various Procurement tools (esp. SAP / SAP ARIBA).
  • Accompany and support national and international tenders.
Business Projects & Consulting

What you will learn:

  • Daily operations of Corporate Procurement and related processes, for OMV, Petrom and Borealis.

  • Accompany and support national and international tenders.
Marketing & Communications

What you will learn:

  • Strategic and conceptual use of all communication tools.
  • Organization and administration within the communication departments.
  • Coordinate with agencies, external consultants and suppliers.
  • Prepare presentations and research activities in project work and meetings.
  • Prepare press conferences as well as press folders and general documents.
  • Support drafting press releases.
People & Culture

What you will learn:

  • Support with national and international People & Culture projects and personnel strategy.
  • Prepare reports and presentations relating to relevant People & Culture topics.
  • Support developing new People & Culture concepts.
  • Assist with the process of People & Culture administration.
  • Daily business operations according to the focus of the respective People & Culture department (Recruiting, Compensation & Benefits, Operational HR Management, Talent Management etc.).
Sales & Retail

What you will learn:

  • Assist with data analysis and create presentations for various business needs.
  • Support customer service via phone and email.
  • Gain insights into order processing through SAP, as well as risk management and contract management.
  • Support with various administrative and back-office tasks.
  • Work closely with the entire sales team and contribute to team projects and goals.
Geoenergy & Technology

What you will learn:

  • Technical analysis to optimize project performance.
  • Collection of analyses and technical data to support decision making process. 
  • Preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Support with ongoing technical projects in the field of Geoscience/Reservoir/Well Engineering, depending on assigned department.

  • The internship period will be stated in the respective advertisement – please apply 3 months prior to the starting date

Educational status

  • Active students enrolled at a University or University of Applied Sciences
